God Wants Us To Love Him
God's purpose in creating human beings was to have a love relationship with us. He could have made robots, but you don't get love from robots, just obedience to instructions.
Free Will To Choose To Accept Or Reject God's Love
For us to love him, he had to create human beings in his image
and with FREE WILL to choose to return or to reject his love.

God's Desire For Us To Respond To His Unconditional Love
All the way through the Bible we see God demonstrating his love to us as our heavenly Father and wanting us to love him in return. That's why the first commandment is to love God with every fibre of our being - body, soul and spirit.
"The LORD revealed himself to us long ago and said: "I have loved you, my children, with an everlasting love." JEREMIAH 31:3
God's First Commandment is: Listen, my children Israel! The LORD your God is One God. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. DEUTERONOMY 4:5-6
