About The 3:10 Course
The 3:10 Discipleship Course is the result of a "word" on 30th October 2006 concerning a discipleship course. The word was simply "PHILIPPIANS 3:10".
In this verse Paul states his goals as a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Amplified Bible translation reads: " [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death..."
The course is in three sections based on Paul's three goals to -
• KNOW GOD PERSONALLY
• KNOW GOD'S POWER
• SHARE CHRIST'S PAIN
Within the space of three days, an outline matrix for a course based on these three goals developed, which eventually took the shape of the diagram in the SITE MAP. The first version of the course was uploaded to the internet on 5 January 2009, since when it has undergone several revisions and modifications. This latest version is a complete revision, based on the comments of individuals and groups, including less information on a page and greater use of graphics to convey key concepts, as well as mind maps of the overall site showing the main sections, units and topics in each. To date the course has been visited by over 16,500 individuals from over 160 countries worldwide and is being used by a number of churches and fellowship groups for basic discipleship training.
